The Chesapeake Conservancy strives to connect people to the Chesapeake and its great rivers. The Conservancy believes that connecting people to the Bay is vital to ensuring the long-term preservation of the Chesapeake Bay and its natural, cultural and historic resources.
The Conservancy not only connects people physically through public access sites, but also through expeditionary education experiences, tourism opportunities along river corridors, Chesapeake Bay Gateways and Water Trails, apps that help folks find new places to explore, and wildlife webcams that bring nature into the home. There are many ways to explore the Bay’s treasures, and the Conservancy’s programs aim to capture the interest and imagination of citizens – young and old, with sea legs or a landlubber – to encourage them to engage with the Bay.
